We met while working at the Boulder County Humane Society and the Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center--the latter founded by Sunny in 1982. Animals have had a strong influence upon our art. Wildlife, earth wisdom and Native American spirituality and storytelling inspire our sculptures.
One night iIn 1998, Sunny and her dogs were greeted by a black bear sitting at her bedroom glass door. A full moon was shining just behind the bear's shoulder. Sunny's Great Pyrenees, close to the same size as the bear, barked. Both dog and bear stood up on their hind legs as they looked at each other. The bear turned and ran down the mountainside. The reflection of the moon remained, giving Sunny the idea for the studio name.
We use brightly colored, low-fire polymer clays, plus mixed media (beads, cloth, feathers, tree branches, ribbons), to create our art. The clay's vibrant colors bring these collectible sculptures to life, with many fo them telling a story.
Sunny's work has been featured on the cover of the Colorado Country Living Magazine.
Our art has been sold throughout the southwest, all 50 states, and a number of foreign countries, including Africa, Germany, Japan, China, Taiwan, Scotland, Mexico and Canada.
