In 1992, Sunny Apke & Jean Skyfeather formed a kindred spirits partnership to sell one-of-a-kind clay sculptures. Although their styles are slightly different, their art is complementary, capturing the essence of earth wisdom and soul. Over the years, they have both received many awards for their art.
Sunny's Artist Statement
I've learned so much from & have a deep respect for animals, nature, & the Native American culture. I hope my work brings a little of their world to others--the greatest message being that we are all connected, that what we do each day affects the rest of the world.
I love to sculpt unique storytellers, wildlife, nativity sets, & spirit horses, I live in the mountains above Boulder, CO with my life partner, two daughters, multiple four leggeds & a multitude of wildlife, trees & mountain breezes.
Jean's Artist Statement
My sculptures come through me, bringing a sense of their own being. Their stories & passion live in my heart & give me a deeper connection with all life. I am blessed each time a new piece comes forth & I pass on these blessings to all who enjoy my sculptures.
In 1990, while rehabilitating wildlife, I discovered a passion for sculpting. I began sculpting prairie dogs & other wildlife, along with dragons, Noah's Arks, angels & collectible Santas. I live in Longmont, CO with two precious cats. I offer an extended biography of my other work at the bottom of my gallery page.
